Tokyo, January 27, 2010 - NEC Corporation today announced its selection by HT Mostar d.d., one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's leading telecommunications carriers, to deploy approximately 70 units of the "PASOLINK" ultra compact microwave communications systems for its operations. Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes the 139th country to adopt the PASOLINK system.
Recent economic conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina demand expanded data transmission capacity among businesses and larger networks. The deployment of PASOLINK contributes significantly to the country's establishment of a strong IT infrastructure that supports steadily increasing data traffic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's HT Mostar adopted PASOLINK's "NEO" series, which is highly evaluated for its ability to flexibly accommodate growing transmission needs through a variety of different interfaces on a single platform. This enables companies to cheaply and easily update infrastructure through software upgrades, and eliminates the need to supplement existing systems with expensive new additions.
Looking forward, demand for PASOLINK's high performance base station connection technologies is expected to rise as the number of worldwide mobile phone subscribers rapidly increases, global mobile Internet services expand and markets with broadband access diversify.
