Support for the People Affected by the Earthquake in Japan

Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.

AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.; Headquarters: Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuhiko
Ishimura) announces that the AGC Group will donate 300 million yen to help recovery
efforts in communities affected by the earthquake and tsunamis that hit Northern Japan
in March.

In addition, the AGC Group will assess the need in the affected areas and provide
necessary in-kind donation. The Group will provide every possible assistance in relief
and recovery operations in the region.

The AGC Group expresses its heartfelt sympathy to those who suffer from the disaster.
The Group sincerely hopes that the affected areas will make earliest possible recovery
and the people in the region will be able to live safely with peace of mind soon.
