Notice Concerning the Impact of the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyo-Oki Earthquake on Lion’s Operations |

Lion Corporation would like to extend its deepest condolences to the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunamis and its sincerest wish for the earliest possible recovery of all stricken areas.
The following is an announcement concerning the current impact of the earthquake that occurred on Friday, March 11, 2011 on the Lion Group’s business operations.

Status of Facilities |

Production Facilities |
|
The following production facilities sustained damage to certain equipment, collapsed loads, disrupted water supply and other difficulties, which have resulted in a cessation of operations: Lion Corporation’s Chiba Plant (Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture), Odawara Plant (Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture), Lion Chemical Co., Ltd.’s Fine Chemicals Office (Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture), and Lion Packaging Co., Ltd.’s Fukushima Plant (Nishishirakawa District, Fukushima Prefecture) and Ichihara Plant (Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture).

Sales Offices and Distribution Facilities |
|
Lion Corporation’s Sendai Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) as well as its Sendai and other distribution centers have incurred partial damage to equipment and inventory, which has led to a cessation of operations.
Although the extent of the damage has yet to be confirmed, the Company expects that operations will resume once safety checks have been completed, and equipment and distribution lifelines have been restored. Lion Corporation aims to resume operations as early as possible while taking into consideration planned power outages, its raw material supply status and other circumstances. |

Lion Corporation began sequentially resuming product order and delivery operations on Tuesday March 15, 2011. |

Impact on Performance |

Lion Corporation is currently examining the damage it has incurred as a result of the current disaster. In the event that the impact on the Lion Group’s performance is forecasted to be significant, this information will be disclosed as needed and in a timely manner. |
