Nippon Pa per Industries Iwa numa M ill a nd Na koso M ill Fully Restored
Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (president: Yoshio Haga), a main subsidiary of Nippon Paper Group, Inc.,
reports that it reopened all production facilities at its Nakoso Mill and Iwanuma Mill on May 10 and May 11,
respectively.
1. Iwanuma Mill (Iwanuma-shi, Miyagi Prefecture)
At Iwanuma Mill, Paper Machines 3 and 4 resumed operation on April 11 and 23, respectively. Paper
Machine 2 returned to operation on May 7 and Paper Machine 1 on May 11. As a consequence, all
production facilities at the Mill are once again operational. Currently, all four paper machines are
running smoothly.
2. Nakoso Mill (Iwaki-shi, Fukushima Prefecture)
Nakoso Mill had gradually resumed operations starting April 5, before being forced to stop again
because of repeated strong aftershocks. Restoration work continued and Coating Machine 5 resumed
operations on April 30. The remaining three coating machines all resumed operations by May 10.
Currently, all four coating machines are running smoothly.
