TMC Announces Results for April 2012

Toyota City, Japan, May 28, 2012—Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd., for April 2012.

  • Lexus-vehicle sales totaled 3,457 units (108.8% increase)
  • Minivehicle sales totaled 1,647 units
  • 50.7% share of market excluding minivehicles (16.5% increase); fourth consecutive month of increase
  • 30.0% share of market including minivehicles
Daihatsu
  • Seventh consecutive month of increase
  • Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 52,000 units (114.9% increase); seventh consecutive month of increase
  • 34.8% share of minivehicle market (3.0% increase)
Hino
  • Tenth consecutive month of increase
  • Standard-truck sales totaled approximately 1,200 units (84.4% increase); tenth consecutive month of increase
  • 30.2% share of the truck* market (4.3% decrease)
Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino
  • Seventh consecutive month of increase
  • 45.2% share of market including minivehicles (11.3% increase); seventh consecutive month of increase
