Mitsui-Bussan Scholarship Program for Indonesia, a public trust foundation, established by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Masami Iijima) has selected the following two grantees for 2012. This time is the 15th selection and this brings the total number of recipients to 32 since the establishment of the program.

Overview of the Program
Scholarships under this program are available to Indonesian high school students. It was established in 1992 to contribute to cultural exchange between Japan and Indonesia as well as help to foster personnel who can contribute to development in the latter country. The entrustor is Mitsui, and the trustee is Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Hitoshi Tsunekage).
They initially undergo preliminary training over a two-month period. They then come to Japan to study Japanese for 18 months before starting a four-year university course. They live and study in Japan for a total of five-and-a-half years and all the educational programs are covered by the scholarship. The value of the scholarship is approximately ¥14 million per student, and there is no repayment requirement.
The scholarship is administered with extensive support from members of the Managing Committee chaired by Dr. Ichiro Inasaki, Professor of Chubu University and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia.
