ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) will launch in the middle of July new handy accessories for the ever popular tablet PC, including a variety of USB cables, HDMI cables, and adapters.

This new release will be a simultaneous launch of 8 different types of USB cables and adapters for connecting directly to tablet PCs; plus a total of 4 new HDMI cables and adapters for connecting AV equipment, such as HD TVs, to tablet PCs.

In terms of USB cables, there will be a total of 5 products across 3 different types of cable: a micro-USB cable that connects a tablet PC to a PC for charging and transferring data; a USB cable that connects a tablet PC to USB devices such as printers and external HDDs; and a mini-USB cable that connects a tablet PC to a PC for transferring data. The micro-USB cable and mini-USB cable are both available in a standard model and a retractable model. Additionally, this new launch will include one USB extension cable that can extend the length of your USB cable when connecting mice or keyboards to a tablet PC.
In terms of USB adapters, there will be 2 new products that can connect USB devices with a USB A interface to tablet PCs.
All these products are either USB2.0 certified, or they support high transfer speeds of 480Mbps just like the USB2.0 standard. They are made with double-shielded cables that protect signals from external noise interference, and rust-resistant gold-plated pins that reduce signal deterioration.

In terms of HDMI cables, there will be 2 HIGH SPEED HDMI cables featuring support for the new HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) standard, which can transmit raw high definition video with just one cable, plus HIGH SPEED with Ethernet certification. They will allow you to connect a tablet PC to devices with an HDMI (type A) input port such as an HD TV. The HDMI cables provide high quality video and audio transmissions, as well as support for “HEC (HDMI Ethernet Channel)” offering 100Mbps Ethernet communications. They also support ARC, which can transmit digital audio from receivers, such as HD TVs, to transmitters, such as AV amps. They are made with triple-shielded, twisted pair cables that protect signals from external noise and internal cable interference.
In terms of HDMI adapters, there will be 2 HDMI adapters that will allow you to connect your existing HDMI cable to a tablet PC. Using your existing HDMI cable, you can connect a tablet PC with an HDMI-Micro output port (type D) to a device such as an LCD TV. Both are made with triple-shielded cables that protect signals from external noise interference.
