Tokyo, July 26, 2012 — Fujitsu today announced the release in Japan of its "Interstage Interaction Manager V10" platform for front-end web applications, which has been enhanced to provide enterprise portal access using smart devices.
Fujitsu's new platform enables users to easily create enterprise portals that display information from various business systems all on one screen, while new features allow for the creation of enterprise portals that can be accessed via smart devices. In addition to the conventional Single Sign-On(1) capability, which enables users to access various business systems through a single login operation, the platform features a proprietary Fujitsu technology that automatically performs certain operations after logging in such as window selection and inputs into each system to directly display the role-defined windows across multiple systems. The platform also includes a setup feature, based on Fujitsu's software technology(2), which makes it easy to construct enterprise portals.
By employing the new platform, users will be able to improve operational efficiency through streamlined access to various business systems—including those on the cloud—via a single login and minimizing transition times at the system window. Furthermore, by accessing the platform using smart devices, with their superior mobility and operability, business systems can be easily used anywhere and at any time.
Enterprise portals integrated into the new platform can be accessed via smart devices running either the Android or iOS operating systems. Business systems used internally can be utilized in the same way via smart devices, with their superior operability and mobility, enabling business to be conducted from practically any location at any time. Moreover, usability has been improved due to the platform being able to arrange and display windows of various systems in one browser and switch between windows with one touch operation.
Through an Autopilot function(3), Fujitsu's platform offers access to the desired windows of various business systems in one integrated work flow. Not only does the platform arrange and display different business system windows, it can also automatically perform certain operations with one login and input, such as window selection and inputs into each system, to directly display user-specified windows across multiple systems. By minimizing the effort and time required for operation, this function successfully improves overall operational efficiency.
This Autopilot function, which is built on Fujitsu's time-tested Single Sign-On function, is a proprietary technology that has been further enhanced with patented technology(4) developed by Fujitsu Laboratories.
This platform is particularly effective in environments where a different system exists for each service as a result of increases in the services offered, corporate mergers or acquisitions, or the use of cloud services. In addition, while visiting customer locations, salespeople can quickly respond to customer requests using their smart devices.
The new platform includes a setup feature, based on Fujitsu's software technology, which makes it easy to construct enterprise portals.
With the setup feature, through the one-time entry of frequently used operations, such as inputs and transitions to frequently used windows, the execution procedures can be automatically recorded and incorporated as part of the portal. In the portal, those desired windows can be automatically displayed immediately after logging in. In this way, the portal can be constructed quickly and easily without having to do anything to existing web-based applications.
Fujitsu plans to offer even more user-friendly products utilizing its software technology.
