Addition of Areas Subject to Compensation for Damages to the Tourism Industries Caused by Harmful Rumors

We deeply apologize to the people of Fukushima and broader society for the tremendous inconvenience and anxiety caused by the accident at Fukushima Daiichi and Daini Nuclear Power Stations (hereinafter referred to as "the accident").

We are currently in the process of providing swift and accurate compensation payouts to those afflicted by the accident based on the Nuclear Damage Compensation System including the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund Law. The following will be added to the areas subject to compensation for damages such as decreased sales (which are considered to be related to the accident) to the tourism industries caused by harmful rumors.

1. Newly added areas
Kisarazu City, Kimitsu City, Futtsu City, Kyonan Town, Otaki Town, Mobara City, Narita City, Katori City, Kozaki Town, Tako Town and Tohnosho Town in Chiba Prefecture

2. Compensation period
From March 11 to December 31, 2011

3. Compensation amount calculation
The compensation for lost income will be calculated by the following method. As for the sales decrease rate related to factors other than the accident, either 1 or 2 below can be selected by those afflicted by damage.

4. Dispatch and acceptance of application forms
Applications "Tourism industry A" will be sent out today (the acceptance of application
forms start on the same day). In order to apply for compensation, please contact the
"Fukushima Nuclear Compensation Office (Call Center)" below.

As for the damages considered to be related to the accident in the areas not
subject to compensation, we will handle them individually and provide compensation
as appropriate.
